Jalandhar: The success of Modi’s ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections has become a new found formula for poll campaigns. The country’s most sought after poll strategists, Prasant Kishore, who had planned the electioneering of Modi, is now testing his ‘Chai Pe Charcha’  formula in Punjab state electioneering.  Prasant has introduced ‘Coffee with Captain’ in Punjab for the Congress’ chief ministerial candidate, Captain Amrinder Singh.

But, will it catch the imagination of the Punjabi voters?

Punjabis are more hooked to Ilaichiwala chai or Lassi . Patialawala peg is no less popular.

Amrinder Singh, the patriarch of Patialal royal family is a giant killer as he has defeated Arun Jaitley in 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar. Will he be able to connect the common Panjabis with his coffee mug? Will he be able to trounce the Akali Dal-BJP combine at the hustings and  snatch power from Prakash Singh Badal.the Akali Dal-BJP? If so, coffee makers have to redefine their marketing strategies.
