Bhubaneswar: Interestingly the success story of Bharat Masala has found copious mention in the latest Odisha Economic Survey report.
The successful journey of an Odia entrepreneur Surendranath Panda is truly a symbolic of an entrepreneurial revolution, viewed the Odisha Economic Survey 2016-17, which was laid in the Odisha Assembly on February 25, 2017.
Surendranath, an young man from a poverty ridden family of Matagajpur village in Cuttack district, had started his business on turmeric with a meager borrowed money of Rs 500 in 1999. He moved ahead in his business with an inspiring profit margin of investment on the first day of business. Even a serious accident which crushed his hands while preparing turmeric power failed to deter him from going ahead in his entrepreneurial pursuance. He adopted Italy’s latest technology to produce quality spices. He was joined in his business by is son Sushant Panda. An MBA Sushant extended his entrepreneurial hand to transform the Jai Bharat Spices Pvt. Ltd.into a Rs 600 crore company today with hard work, dedication and intellect. The company , which is exporting spices to various contries, has received national and international recognition in many trade forums .
“Poverty and deprivation never deters a man to contribute for economic upliftment of poor” , observed the Survey while hailing the entrepreneurial excellence of Surendranath.
