Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railways Promotee Officers Association(ECoRPOA) general secretary, M.M.Patnaik, has said that the the Group-B officers in Indian Railways are deprived of their due promotions as the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) Calendar issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is not followed time to time basis by the Indian Railways.

Patnaik, while speaking to the delegates of promote officers of ECoR in the General Body Meeting of ECoRPOA at Rail Vihar, Bhubaneswar recently, said that cases have been filed in the CAT and High Court against the DPC Calendar to block the promotions of the Group-D officers. Expressing displeasure over the practice, he said that officers from engineering, accounts, personnel department are the worst sufferers and also miscellaneous categories whose promotional avenue in fact is in jeopardy.

The meeting, which was presided over by ECoRPOA president, R.C. Sahu, was attended by Gropu-B officers from Sambalpur, Visakhapatnam and Khurda divsions.  Additional general secretary,  Saroj Kumar Sahu, and organizing secretary, S.K. Rout, also addressed the meeting.
