Koklata:Emami Cement CEO Vivek Chawla said that the Odisha cement plant would be operational by January 2018.
Emami is putting up a grinding unit 2 million tonne per annum capacity in Odisha.
Emami has an integrated cement plant with clinker and grinding unit at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. It has a grinding unit of 2 mtpa at Panagarh in West Bengal.
Chawla said the group’s cement business is going to make some profit this year. The company is expecting a retail sales of Rs 2000 to 2200 crore from sales of 3.2 million tonnes of cement during the FY 2018, he said adding that there would posting of some profit this fiscal.
Emami is going to produce 6 million tonnes of cement from its existing 4 million tonne capacity by augmenting capacity utilisation. With a plan to have a market share of 10% in the six states (Chattisgarh, Bengal, Jharkhand, Odhisa, Bihar and Maharashtra) where its presence is there, the company is planning to double its sales outlet to 43000 this fiscal.
