112 Startups Get Recognition, 19 Coming Up
Bhubaneswar: Odisha -based startups have started flexing their innovative ideas using technology.
Arrelic Reliability Ltd. is developing IOT framework for industrial maintenance, while Vasitars Pvt. Ltd is developing polymer technology for conventional sealing of leakage in steel pipes. Ordino Labs Pvt. Ltd. is developing a GPS for vehicle, smart home and industrial automation. The startups have started recruiting people for their operations.
Taking notice of the startups innovative ideas, angel funding companies have shown keen interest to invest in their ventures. Amazon Web Service(AWS) has agreed to offer $1000 worth cloud credit to all Odisha based startups.
Akankshya Kapoor of Invest India has informed the Startup Odisha Initiative( SOI) that all the recognized startups would be given the cloud credit. She also said that Zoho has extended support in term of their 30 software and tools to all the startups registered under SOI.
The task force of the Odisha government SOI Monday met under the chairmanship of MSME additional chief secretary, LN Gupta, to discuss about the progress made by the startups in the state.
Gupta said that Odisha Startup Initiative (SOI) has recognized 112 startups working in diverse areas during the last two months. He said that another 19 are under the process of getting recognition.
The 3rd meeting of the Task Force approved monthly allowance grant of Rs 20,000 per month for 7 recognized startups. With this a total of 15 startups would be getting monthly allowance under the SOI. The meeting also approved the need based assistance of Rs 4 lakh to one startup.
Further, it recommended to the startup council for approving monthly assistance and product development/marketing assistance to one startup each, in relaxation of the existing eligibility conditions. These startups are working in diverse innovating areas. For example,
The Task Force also discussed about the formation of Bhubaneswar Angel Network. The members of the network assured to register the network as a society early.

Mustakim, president UCCI, Ramesh Mohapatra, MSME additional secretary, B.B. Behera, director industries, Niranjan Sahoo, and CEO IED, Dr.Samarendra Sahu.
