New Delhi: In a major reshuffle in the rank of middle level officers, the government of India Monday appointed 17 joint secretaries in various central government departments. There are 11 IAS cadre officers and 6 other civil services who have been appointed as new joint secretaries.
According to the department of personal & training (DoPT) notification, Anil Malik and Vivek Bharadwaj, both IAS officers, have been posted as joint secretaries in home ministry. IAS officer Anurag Agarwal has been appointed joint secretary in the department of economic affairs. Similarly, IAS officer N Saravana Kumar has been posted as joint secretary in the department of higher education. Anuradha Thakur, also an IAS officer, is the joint secretary, department of investment & public asset management.
Indian Forest Service officer Amit Sahai is the new joint secretary in the department of defence production.
Indian Revenue Service (IT) officer Ruchika Chaudhry Govil is the joint secretary in ministry of steel. Manohar Agnani and Vijoy Kumar Singh of IRS have been posted in department of health and family welfare, and DoPT respectively. Indian Defence Accounts Service officer Ravinesh Kumar is the financial advisor, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Sanjay Goel and Gopalakrishnan S have been appointed joint secretaries in ministry of electronics & information technology.
Kalpana Rajsinghot has been appointed joint secretaries in ministry of labour & employment. He has replaced IAS officer Rajiv Arora who has been sent back to his cadre state Haryana before completion of his central deputation tenure.
While Manju Pandey has been posted in the ministry of environment, forest & climate change, Niranjan Kumar Sudhansu is the joint secretary in the ministry of coal. S Suresh Kumar has been appointed additional chief executive officer, government e-marketplace special purpose vehicle– a portal to procure goods and services by all government departments and public sector undertakings.
