Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief secretary, AP Padhi, Thursday said that six mines, four iron ore and one each graphite and limestone, would be offered for auction sale in October, 2017.

Padhi, who chaired the State Level Facilitation Committee, said that the concerned agencies have been directed to expedite the process of land acquisition and land alienation, and also getting statutory clearances like forest and  environment.  Stating that the six mines already auctioned are facing problem of getting clearnces, Padhi said steps are being taken by the government to ensure that the problems related to clearances are resolved at the earliest.

The chief secretary said that it is the state government’s responsibility to ensure that mines auctioned should get all the land required and the statutory clearances.
