Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Saturday felicitated the students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) for winning the champion trophy and best innovation award in Asia’s first inter-college rocket competition organized by Space Development Nexus and BRICS countries.
The VSSUT team launched their 3000 ft rocket VSLV 1.0 which bagged them the Best Innovation Award. The two-day event was held at New Delhi on August 26-27.
“After over one year of continuous and dedicated effort of the 20 membered team, the VSLV 1.0 was tested successfully at Hirakud. It was a great achievement and inspiration for the entire team,” said the team leader Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya.
“The students of Idea & Innovation Cell of VSSUT have made the state proud once again with their innovations”, said the chief minister, while felicitating the students at his office in the state secretariat. He awarded the team and assured for support for their future projects. Naveen also wished the team for their participation in the World Festival of Youth at Moscow.
