Bhubaneswar: The Second Bhubaneswar Poetry Festival (BPF-2017) will be held on October 14 and 15, here at Mayfair Convension, this year. The two-day festival will witness intellectual activities in literature, art and cinema besides social debate and political discourse.

More than 70 Odia authors and poets besides film actress Bijaya Jena and bollywood lyricist Dushyant are participating in the festival.

Finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera, veteran politicians Niranjan Patnaik, Bijaya Mohapatra, Kharabela Swain and Arun Kumar Sahu will grace the inaugural session. Eminent poest Ramakant Rath, Sitakanta Mohapatra, Haraprasad Das, and Sarat Kumar Dash will discuss about poetry, fiction, and translation on opening day of the festival.

Festival adiser HP Das told media persons , “The BPF  is designed to be a landmark event for showcasing Indian Literature. It could take in its sweep the unfolding landscape of global literature, the new voice of Indian literature and the kaleidoscopic range of Odia creativity.” “It hopes to bring together three generations of poets, authors and artists. The emphasis, of course, would be the contemporary new literature in all its splendor, written anywhere in the world, particularly in Odisha.,”  he added.

Festival director Subhransu Panda festival advisor Sarat Kumar Das were also present.
