Rourkela: The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) presented Star Performer Awards to 14 of its junior and middle level executives.

The RSP CEO, Ashwini Kumar, gave away the Awards to the executives at a function organised at CPTI auditorium  in the Plant premises on Tuesday. 

The seven executives selected from seven different zones of the works area to receive this award for the last quarter of  financial year 2016-17 were Ballav Panda, Assistant Manager, Coke Ovens, Arakshita Behera, Deputy Manager, Blast Furnace (Mechanical),  Manoranjan Kumar, Senior Manager, SMS-I (Operation), Ramesh Chandra Mishra, Assistant Manager, Cold Rolling Mill (Operation),  Anand Kumar, Assistant Manager, Civil Engineering (Services),  Ashok Kumar Nayak, Depuy Manager, E&ES, Swapnendu Das, Assistant Manager, Oxygen Plant.

The recipients of the awards for the first  quarter  of Financial Year 2017-18 are Amit Kumar Dung Dung, Deputy Manager, OBBP (Mechanical), Pitamber Satpathy, Manager, Blast Furnaces (Mechanical),  Manoj Kumar Samal, Assistant Manager, SMS-II (Operation), P Venkatesh Naidu, Manager, Pipe Plant,  Arvind Upadhyaya, Manager, FM(M), Abhinav R Sharma, Manager, Instrumentation, Ullas Kumar Bhujabal, Senior Manager, Oxygen Plant.

Each of them were awarded with a trophy and a certificate while their spouses were presented with sweet packets in recognition of their support to the awardees.

 “The synergy with which the departments are working is simply outstanding leading to improved performance and production,” said the CEO. He urged the awardees to keep up the good work and expressed his confidence that others would be motivated to emulate them.

Plant’s ED(P& A)  P K Pradhan, ED(Works) Subhendra Das, and ED(MM) Parmananda Sahoo also spoke on the occasion . Assistant manager (Personnel) Lopamudra Mishra conducted the event. 

 RSP introduced the Star Performer of the Quarter Award last year to recognise the executives in E1 to E5 level for exceptional contribution in their area of work on a quarterly basis.  A unique feature of the scheme is that an executive once awarded under the scheme, can be awarded once again after a quarter, if he/she continues to  excel.
