Bhubaneswar: The valley in tribal dominated Kashipur in Odisha’s Rayagada district is dazzling with golden yellow colour. For, it is the prime time for Alsi flowers to bloom.
The unique beauty and fragrance of this tribal crop is quite enchanting. Kasipur is known for its poverty, malnutrition and backwardness. But this time of the season, it is the bright hue Alsi field that lords over the sentiment. Kasipur turns into a paradise on the earth.
Kasipur would have made Wordsworth to write Alsi instead of Daffodils.
A host, of golden Alsi;
Beside the mountain, beneath the thress,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
