Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik Friday launched Sudakhya Yojana to impart skills to women and girls with a view to create job opportunity for them. The Yojana which will continue for two years starting from 2017-18, will ensure admission of at least 5000 girl students in the 48 government Industrial Training Institutes (Itis) in the state in the first year.  The government is aiming at increasing the girl student intake in Itis to 30% from the present 7%.

Patnaik said that the women and girls passed class 10 would be admitted into the Itis. Even women and girls those have passed class 8 would be admitted in certain trade that are suitable for them, he added.
