Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has urged the union minister for electronics and information technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, to establish a C-DAC regional centre in Bhubaneswar.
Patnaik, in a letter to the union minister, has stated that a C-DAC regional centre in Bhubaneswar will accelerate research in high performance computing and data analytics and its application in industries and governance in the state. Stating that the state is prone to cyclone, the chief minister has said application of high performance computing can help in weather forecasting and disaster management.
The C-DAC has only one regional centre in the eastern India in Kolkata.
