Anugul: The state MSME additional chief secretary, LN Gupta, heard the grievances of  the entrepreneurs of ancillary and downstream industries in Udyog Samasya Samadhan Sibir (USSS), held  in the Smelter & Power Complex of Nalco, here on Thursday.

About  72 entrepreneurs attended the USSS.  Variety of grievances relating to ancillary industries , MSMEs vendors, Industries allotted  in Industrial Estate, PMEGP beneficiaries, fly ash  units  were  discussed and redressed on the spot.

The executive director of Nalco’s S & P Complex, RK Mishra, said the company has 55 ancillary industries which supply various components, spares and  services to the company’s  S&P plant. The Company for its Anugul facility purchasing materials worth Rs 160 crore and services worth Rs 182 crore annually.  Purchases from MSMEs last year was worth Rs 29 crores.  During the current year, Nalco has already procured materials worth Rs 12 crores and services worth Rs 57 crores from the vendors/suppliers of Odisha. Nalco has identified 180 items to be procured from MSMEs.

The additional chief secretary urged  the local   industries associations and all the entrepreneurs present to accept  the challenge for supplying maximum  goods  and services from  Odisha itself. He suggested Nalco to undertake at least 4 Vendor Development Programmes annually with special focus for the development of women, SC/ST  and persons with differently abled (PwD) entrepreneurs.

The Idco CGM(MSME) informed  that the land acquisition for second industrial estate over an area of 134 acres near village Tulsipal is under progress. The Angul district collector, Anil Kumar Samal, assured that advance possession of the land will be handed over to Idco within a period of one month.

The Idco CGM also  informed that the  Angul Aluminium Park over an area  of 223 acres  near Nalco’s S & P Complex is already  under development and 4 enterprises have already been given  provisional allotment of land.

Gupta directed the Idco to expedite the development of Aluminium Park and also the second industrial estate. He urged the bankers to expedite sanction and disbursement of assistance under PMEGP.

The USSS reviewed the progress of two clusters– Engineering and Fly Ash Brick.   Whereas DSRs of both the clusters have been prepared and SPVs have been formed,  progress  is held up for want of possession of land by the SPVs.      The proposal  for funding of both the clusters under MSE- CDP scheme to government of India before the end of January 2018.

The USSS witnessed about 20 entrepreneurs register their units under Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum ( UAM ),  Government  e-Market Place (GeM)  and Zero Effect  – Zero Defect (ZED).   The additional chief secretary advised other units to register under  UAM, GeM and ZED. He also urged Nalco and  entrepreneurs  to  register their  employees under 4 week  Learning & Development Programme (L&D) available  on-line (startupodisha.gov.in).
