Rourkela: SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has reported net profit in the month of September and October, 2017 after about 29 months. This has been revealed by the RSP CEO, Ashwini Kumar.
While taling to his senior officers and employees at the 775th Mass Contact Excise on the topic ‘Planning for Turnaround and Transformation by Galvanizing inner Strenth’, here on Wednesday, he said that for their determined efforts, RSP is in the profit zone. The Plant ED (Project), Rajiv Agarwal, and GM (mILLS & Auxiliaries) P K Mohanty also addressed the gathering.
Ashwini Kumar said, In the past months, we have performed excellently. We are regularly achieving more than the rated capacity.” ” We have overcome the challenges which came in our way and have emerged stronger and much more determined to take our plant to greater heights,” he added. He stressed on maintaining production levels and observed that whenever the day-to-day production was consistently high, many new records were created.
“ For getting higher profits, we need to produce more value-added products, and reduce breakdowns, rejections and wastage,” the CEO said.
Agarwal informed the collective that RSP is the first plant in SAIL to complete the Modernisation & Expansion and had reached rated capacity in the earliest possible time.
