The Panel of Judges for the Prime Minister’s Trophy for the Best Integrated Steel Plant for the year 2016-17 commenced its two day visit of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) from Friday .
The panel comprises, V.S.Jain, former chairman, SAIL, A. P. Choudhary, former CMD, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Justice Pritam Pal, Retired Judge of High Court of Punjab and Haryana, V.Shyamsundar, former MD, Durgapur Steel Plant, Professor Ranjan Das, former faculty IIM Kolkata and S. Gopal, Former CEO, L&T Komatsu. They are accompanied by A.C.R.Das, Consultant and Mr.S.K.Saluja, Nodal officer, PM’s Trophy Secretariat.
The visiting dignitaries attended a meeting with the senior officers of RSP at the CEO’s Conference hall. RSP CEO Ashwini Kumar and all executive directors and other senior officers was present on the occasion. A presentation was made pertaining to various aspects of functioning of RSP.
Later the panel visited the Safety Corner of HRD Centre, Ore Bedding & Blending Plant, Blast Furnace-5, Steel Melting Shop-II and New Plate Mill. The evaluation of various other areas would continue till the 9th of December 2017.
