Bhubaneswar :The union mines minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, Friday dedicated three projects promoted by the Central sector aluminium major Nalco.
The projects which were dedicated to the nation on the occasion of Nalco’s 38th Foundation Day, here, are mining activity at south block of Panchpatamali Bauxite Mines, 18.5 MW Turbo Generator at Alumina Refinery, Damanjodi and Nano Technology based Defluoridation Plant at Smelter, Angul. The union minister, while dedicating the project through video conferencing hailed the efforts of the aluminium company.
The union petroleum minister, Dharmendra Pradhan and the Nalco CMD Dr. TK Chand graced the occasion.
Nalco felicitated Prafulla Kar with lifetime achievement award on this occasion. Nalco Kalidas awards were presented to Prof. Atul Kumar Nanda & Prof Sukanta Kumar Senapati for their contribution to Sanskrit literature. Similarly, Nalco Kharavela Awards were handed over to Nirod Kumar Dehury, Sonali Mohapatra, Manisha Manaswini, and Sugyani Mahapatra for their significant achievements and contributions to Odissi dance. Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia was felicitated for his significant contributions.
For 2018, Nalco Literary award were presented to Dasarathi Das & Shantanu Kumar Acharya. On this occasion, Badri Prasad Mishra was also felicitated for his significant contributions to Environment Protections.
As part of company’s endeavor to encourage Swachhata drive in schools, Nalco awarded to 10 schools from Angul, Damanjodi and Vizag region.
Bollywood playback singer Anuradha Paudwal presented a musical show on this occasion.
