Kokata: The managing director of Ortel Communication, Jagi Mangat Panda, is the new chairperson of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern Region. She will be the first woman to hold the top post in CII Eastern Region when she will assume the new charge.
Jagi’s name was announced at the CII Eastern Regional Council meeting, here on Saturday.
She will replace Umesh Chowdhary, vice-chairman & managing director, Titagarh Wagons, as the chairperson for a period of one year from 2018 to 2019.
Jagi has more than 15 years of experience in the broadband and broadcasting industry. She is also the co-founder and executive director of Odisha Television(OTV), the top news television channel of Odisha. Jagi was awarded as the ‘Young Global Leader’ at the World Economic Forum in 2008.
Earlier, she had served the CII, Eastern Region as its deputy chairperson.
