Bhubaneswar: Odisha bade a warm farewell to Dr. SC Jamir, who relinquished the state governorship after completion of his tenure on March 20,2018.
State finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera, parliamentary affairs minister Bikram Keshri Arakhu, city mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Khurda collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra, and police commissioner YB Khurania gave the farewell with a ceremonial guard of honour to Dr. Jamir at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, here on Saturday.
Earlier, on Friday, the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, had paid a courtesy visit to Jamir at Raj Bhawan.
Jamir left for his hometown in Nagaland.
Jamir, a four-time Chief Minister of Nagaland, was sworn in as the Odisha Governor on March 21, 2013. The Bihar governor Satya Pal Malik has taken the additional charge of Odisha.
