Bhubaneswar: The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam,Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM,  Monday chaired the Local Board of Aministration (LBA) meeting of the visited Sainik School Bhubaneswar.  Since after he has taken over as the Chairman Local Board of Administration of the school it was his first official visit to preside over LBA meeting with the state government officials.

The Vice Admiral, soon after the LBA meeting, flagged off a  bus sponsored by the state government for the use of Sainik School cadets. He also presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony of a new stadium.

Addressing the dignitaries and the staff and cadets, Karambir Singh assured that his office shall extend all necessary support and ensure Sainik School Bhubaneswar rises to greater heights in coming days.

Sainik School principal  Kanchan Mukherjee, Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha MP Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani,  Rear Admiral Deepak Kapoor , Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration),  Commodore K S Noor, Command Education Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, B Pradhan were present on the occaion.

Vice Admiral Singh was commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1980 and earned his wings as an helicopter pilot in 1982.  Prior to joining Eastern Naval Command he has taken over as Vice Chief of the Naval Staff.  Under the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief the Eastern Naval Command extends naval support on the shoreward of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Island chain of Andaman and Nicobar.
