Bhubaneswar: Officers associations in Odisha are up in arms against the union petroleum minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, for the latter’s antics.
The Odisha IAS Officers Association Tuesday submitted a memorandum to chief minister Naveen Patnaik alleging that a senior IAS officer was “personally targeted” by the union minister at an official function.
It was on Monday, the union minister, while addressing the inauguration of the National Data Centre of NIC, here in a posh hotel took the name of state IT secretary Ashok Meena.
The IAS Officers Association has alleged that several such incidents have also been reported by the field functionaries and this has vitiated the working atmosphere with a demoralising effect on the officers and employees of the state government.
Condemning such incidents, the association has appealed the chief minister to take up the matter at the appropriate level so that such incidents are not repeated in future.

The OAS Officers Association under the leadership of its president Saroj Samal have also met the chief minister and submitted a memorandum alleging the union minister’s unruly behaviour towards their cadre officers. The Odisha Finance Officers Association, Odisha Police Association, Odisha Revenue Service Officers Association, Odisha Information Service Association, Odisha Secretariat Officers Association, Odisha Revenue Officers Association, Rural Agriculture Employees Association, Heads of the Department Employees Association, Drivers Association too submitted memorandums to the chief minister condemning the behaviour of the union minister.
