Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s new governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal was sworn-in on Tuesday.
The chief justice of Odisha high court Vineet Saran administered the oath of office to the governor at a special function held here at the Raj Bhawan.
Following the completion of the tenure of governor SC Jamir on March 21, the Bihar governor Satya Pal Malik was appointed as in-charge governor. Prof. Lal was appointed as full time governor on May 25.
President Ram Nath Kovind had appointed Prof. Lal as the Governor of Odisha on May 25.
The former food and supplied minister of Haryana, Prof. Lal, had served the BJP party as its Bihar unit president and also the national president of BJP’s disciplinary committee.
