Rourkela: The SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has registered its best ever production performance on all major fronts like Hot Metal, Crude Steel and Saleable Steel in the first five months of fiscal 2018-19.
The Steel Plant produced 1,58,4901 tonnes of Hot Metal, 1,49,0936 tonnes of Crude Steel and 1,32,7407 tonnes of Saleable Steel during the April-August 2018 period which are not only the highest-ever figures since inception but also an increase of 20.3 % , 17.7 % and 12.8 % respectively over the corresponding period of last year (CPLY). The total Sinter production was the best ever at 2,53,4214 tonnes, which is 18.5 % higher than CPLY. The New Plate Mill too recorded its all-time best performance for the April-August period by rolling 3,33,920 tonnes of plates, which is a rise of 18.1 % over last year.
