Talcher: Prime minister Narendra Modi accompanied laid the foundation stone for the revival of fertiliser plant, here on Saturday. The Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal and chief minister Naveen Patnaik were present in the stone laying ceremony at Talcher.
Modi said that the Rs 13,000 crore project is aimed at revival of Talcher Fertiliser Plant which was shut down long back. The coal gasification based fertilizer plant will be the first of its kind in India .
“Odisha people had lost hope of the fertilizer plant being revived. But we got opportunity to revive the plant despite hurdles.”
The plant will help create a huge employment opportunity. Around 4,500 people will be employed in the region. The fertilizer plant will start production in 36 months, he said during the ceremony in Talcher.
