Rourkela: The Rourkela Steel Plant’s (RSP) Hot Strip Mill set highest ever monthly production and dispatch records in October 2018. The Mill achieved the feat by producing 1,69,461 tonnes and dispatching 1,03,025 tonnes of HR Coils in the said month. The previous best monthly production record was of 1,67, 177 tonnes of HR Coil, made in March-2018 while the previous record of dispatch of 1,01,184 tonnes of HR Coils was set in August 2017.
The HSM general manager P Murali said, “The excellent performance could be achieved because of the best utilization of the available resources, improved rolling rate, better mill utilization, lesser numbers of breakdowns and cobble generation and better availability of the equipment.”
