Bhubaneswar: Odisha Wednesday extended the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana to cover an addtional 5 lakh old-age persons and Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana to include 40,000 artists.

The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik announced that an additional  five lakh old-age persons will be covered under the pension scheme.
“Not a single eligible persons for old-age pension would be left out of the scheme”, said Patnaik.
 With this the total number of beneficiaries under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana went up to 48 lakh. 
The new beneficiaries would avail the benefits under the scheme from December 15. The beneficiaries of age 60 to 80 will get old-age pension of Rs 300 while those above 80 will get Rs 500 per month. 

Patnaik also announced that 40,000 artists will be included in the list of Mukhya Mantri Kalakar  Sahayata Yojana. The beneficiaries would get Rs 1200 per month financial assistance from December 15. 

The district collectors have been directed to organise special camps to disburse the assistance to the beneficiaries under both the scheme from December 15 to 20.
