Bhubaneswar: A total of 11,434 projects worth over Rs 6,438 crore has taken up in mineral bearing districts of Odisha under District Mineral Foundation (DMF) by Decmber 2018 .
A high-level review meeting chaired by chief secretary AP Padhi and attended by development commissioner Asit Tripathy, held here on Thursday, was told that there are 9,044 projects in the high-priority sectors such as drinking water, education, environment preservation, pollution control, health and sanitation, skill development and livelihood activities. In other priority sector such as infrastructure, watershed, energy and afforestation, a total of 2,378 projects have been taken up.
The chief secretary and the development commissioner directed the officials to expedite the project work with a view to complete the same in time. They also emphasized on close monitoring of the projects to avoid any duplication.
The review revealed that Angul, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada are the top eight districts in the DMF fund collection and allocation.
