Bhubaneswar: Congress MLA from Sundergarh Jogesh Singh will resign from his MLAship before arrival of party high command Rahul Gandhi in Odisha. Jogesh is set to join the ruling BJD this month.

Sources close to Singh told India Whispers that the resignation is likely to come before January 24.

The Sundergarh MLA has announced that he would resign from MLAship soon. He, however, has not specified when he is going to tender his resignation.

Meanwhile, Singh has been suspended from the party for his “anti-party” activities.

“As per the directive of the All India Congress Committee, Sundergarh MLA Jogesh Singh has been suspended from the party for his frequent anti-party remarks in the media, which caused damage to party image,” a statement issued by the State Congress said.

In his reaction, Singh said: “I welcome the party’s decision. But, I don’t know when and what anti-party statements I had given.”
