Bhubaneswar: Asian School of Business Management (ASBM), one of the premier B-schools of the country, has become an university.
The state cabinet chaired by chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Tuesday approved the proposal.
The state chief secretary, AP Padhi, while briefing about the cabinet decisions, said that the conferment of university status to ASBM will broaden the horizon of education in Odisha and give an impetus to multi-disciplinary teaching and research. This will also help in introducing new generation industry oriented and employment linked courses, he added.
ASBM has been founded by Biswajit Patnaik who is popularly known as Laggan Professor.
