Bhubaneswar: Guru Pankaj Utsav is going to be held from March 17 to March 21 here at Rabindra Mandap. The renowned Kuchupudi danseuses Vyjayanthi Kashi will get the prestigious Mahari Award which carries a cash prize of Rs50,000 on this occasion.
Veteran dancers like Ranjana Gauhar , Geeta Mahalik , Aruna Mohanty , Sharmila Biswas , Aloka kanungo ,Kavita Dwivedi, Meera Das , Sujata Mohapatra , Jhelum Paranjape , Shubodha Varadkar , Leena Mohanty , Jyoti Rout ,Sharmila Mukherjee, Suhag Nalini Das , Amrita Das , Saji Menon , Anjana jha , Dr. Mandakranta Ray , Dimpy Vaishya, Pushpita Mishra , and this year’s Mahari awardee Vyjayanthi Kashi will perform in this five day festival organized by Guru Pankaj Charan Odissi Research Foundation on the eve of 100th Birth Anniversary of Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das.
Chief of Foundation Sarat Das said that the festival is going to be held in two sessions. Young and upcoming dancers would be offered the platform from 4-6PM and veterans were would do some on-stage experiment between 6.30 -9.30 PM.
