Rourkela: The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has registered the best ever wagon loading record for any single day on March 15, 2019. In all 266 wagons were loaded on the said date thereby breaking the previous record of 237 numbers of wagons. The total volume of material dispatched was 18044 tonnes including road dispatch of 1552 tonnes.
Hot Strip Mill loaded 16 wagons of HR Plate and 70 wagons of HR Coil, New Plate Mill recorded a loading of 58 wagons, Plate Mill achieved loading of 35 wagons and PPC registered loading of slabs in 87 wagons. This feat was the possible because of the collective effort of Production Planning & Control, Traffic & Raw Materials, Research and control Laboratory and the loading Departments.
The Plant’s ED(Works) Gautam Banerjee said, “This is truly a big jump and this needs to become a regular feature.”
