Babu Singh, the Bhubaneswar district president of BJD, has joined BJP recently. Not only that he has garnered the BJP ticket to contest from the Bhubaneswar Ekamra seat.

However, Singh is now thinking of quiting BJP surrendering his ticket. He is also thinking of joining back BJD.

Singh is terribly unhappy over the affairs in the saffron party in the state. He is being neglected by the BJP party even though the party has fielded him as a candidate from an all important constituency.

Singh has bitter experience in the party office where he went to discuss about the election campaign. Sources close to him said that he was given a cold shoulder.

Singh’s joining the party and getting ticket has not gone well with the party’s aspirant Amiya Das, who had fought the election last time. Das’ supporters had locked up the party’s head office for two days in protest against allotting ticket to an outsider.

Now, Singh is finding himself nowhere. The BJP party is not extending support to him, and many of his strong followers have returned to BJD.

Singh’s fault was that he has entered into the BJP through party’s Bhubaneswar MP candidate Aparajita Sarangi, who is considered to be very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Babu Singh, meanwhile, has taken up the matter with Aparajita. Babu Singh aides said that Aparajit has expressed her helplessness.

Finding no way out, Singh is thinking of surrendering his ticket and quit the party, said one of his followers. ” He may join back BJD”, added his followers.

Interestingly, Bhagirathi Sethi, who was BJD’s Anandpur MLA in 2009, had left party and joined BJP when he was denied a ticket in 2014. This time Sethi has got the BJP ticket. He, however, made a volte face and joined back BJD surrendering his BJP ticket. Sethi is now BJD candidate for Anandpur.
