Bhubaneswar: The NTPC’s 3000 MW Kaniha Power plant arranged 10,000 tonnes of coal from other sources like Ib Valley Coalfield, Eastern Coalfield Ltd., Singrenni collary as the coal crisis persists.
A spokes person told India Whispers that 10,000 tonnes of coal have been arranged from IB, ECL and Singrenni as the coal stock at plant site came down to a precarious level of 20,000 tonnes. He said that 3 units of the 6x500MW plant has been shut down. And, the current generation from 3 running unit is around 1200 MW.
Coal supply to the Kaniha Plant from the Talcher Coalfield of Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd.(MCL) for the last severn days as workers stir continues to disrupt raising and dispatch of coal from the mines pithead following fatal mines mishap.
