Bhubaneswar: The Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BIL), owner of Sewa Paper Mill at Jeypore in Koraput district, is going to come out with a revival proposal for the closed paper mill.

The state industries minister, Divya Shankar Mishra, assured the BIL that the state government would extend all help for the revival of the industries if the company would come up a proposal.

Mishra Thursday reviewed the present position of the plant in the presence of local MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, BIL representatives. The state water resources principal secretary Pradip Jena, industries principal secretary Sanjeev Chopra, energy principal secretary Hemanta Sharma, forest & environment special secretary S. Panda and home special secretary Santosh Bala also attended the meeting.

The Paper Mill, which started production in 1984, closed down in Apirl 2016 as the management faced with financial crisis. The Mill owed about Rs 750 towards electricity and water cess payable to the power distribution company and the State water resources department.

The concerned departments assured that the industry would be provided with raw material, water and electricity for its revival.
