Dhenkanal: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Saturday initiated the process of opening of its regional chapter for Dhenkanal-Angul-Talcher industrial belt. A roadshow was organized by CII at Tata Steel BSL plant located at Narendrapur of Dhenkanal district as a prelude to the opening of the chapter.

Conducted by CII’s Odisha chapter, it witnessed enthusiastic participation of twenty-seven senior executives from 18 local industrial units including big names like NALCO, NTPC, JSPL, GMR Power, Navabharat Ventures, etc other than the host company. CII’s proposed local chapter will provide a platform to represent the aspirations of various corporate houses of the region through which issues of common interests can be addressed at various forums and industrialization process can be furthered.
CII Odisha chapter vice president and SNM Group chairman Pradipta Mohanty graced the occasion.
Tata Steel BSL COO Subodh Pandey said the local industrial units including representatives of service sector need to come together to address issues faced both by the industries and the community for betterment of the entire industrial belt.
Similarly, PSUs like NALCO, Angul and NTPC, Kaniha represented by M P Mishra, Executive Director and V Ramesh Babu, Executive Director, respectively expressed interest for a local chapter of the industry body and a platform for the industry leaders to interact and look for solutions for issues of the area together. The same was echoed by Binod Dash, Chairman of Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Other corporate houses of Dhenkanal-Angul-Talcher region present on the occasion included, MGM, Utkal Asbestos Ltd, Narayani Institute of Engineering and Technology, Adarsha College of Engineering, TSTPS, Hotel Prashanti, Hotel Surya Garden, Hotel Durga, etc.
Manikanata Naik, Chief Corporate Services, Tata Steel BSL gave welcome address to the delegates on the occasion and in her concluding remarks Suparna Nanda, Director, CII, Odisha Chapter said CII will try to speed up registration of the industries for formation of the regional chapter.

The Tata Steel BSL, in fact, initiated the process of the formation of the Dhenkanal-Angul chapter of CII.
