Bhubaneswar: Odisha Patrakar Sangha, an organisation of journalists of Odisha, celebrated its 10 foundation day, here on Sunday.
Jaydev MLA and former minister Arabinda Dhali, chief editor of Pramey Gopal Krushna Mohapatra, senior journalist Rajaram Satapathy, editor India Whispers.Com Dilip Bisoi and senior journalist S. Dhada spoke on the topic Media vs. Social Media.
Sangha state president Surendra Sahu said that organisation would keep its struggle towards achieving its demands like pension and housing for journalists besides security. The Sangha is also demanding that the health insurance coverage amount for journalists be enhanced to Rs 5 lakh from the present Rs 2 lakh.
Sangha general secretary Abinash Mishra said that the government will be moved on these demands very soon by the organisation.
On this occasion eminent personalities like writer & singer Chanda Mishra, senior journalist Pradosh Patnaik, electronic media personality Durga Madhab Mishra, young journalist Kapilendra Pradhan, photo journalist Piyush Mohanty, and weekly newspaper editor Jaganath Khuntia were honoured with trophies presented by the guests. Vice president Suresh Das gave the vote of thanks.
