Bhubaneswar:Sundergarh BJP MLA Kusum Tete has demanded that the traffic on the Sundergarh-Balinga road be regulated and plying of vehicle be stopped in village Kanika for the safety of the people living around.
Kusum Tete, in a letter to the district collector, has stated that the coal loaded trucks from MCL mines plays havoc in the villages. Villagers are dying due to road accidents everyday, she said and urged the collector to take steps to stop unruly traffic movement on the road.
The MLA has suggested that the speed of coal carrying trucks be governed and CCTV arrangements be made to monitory erring drivers.
Citing the proceedings of the bipartite meeting between the locals and the MCL representative under the chairmanship of the collector in 2016, the Sundergarh MLA has said that the MCL and the transporters are supposed to pay compensation at the rate of Rs 3 lakh for deceased person.
