Bhubaneswar: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), the country’s leading fully integrated producer of value added ferro chrome, was recognised for its pioneering efforts with the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) awarding the prestigious ‘Pollution Control Appreciation Award – 2019’ to the Company’s Sukinda chromite mines.
The award was given in recognition of effective pollution control measures and sound environment management practices adopted by the management.
At a function commemorating the 36th Foundation Day Ceremony of OSPCB, the State forest and environment minister Bikram Keshari Arukh handed over the award to IMFA head of mines business unit Sanjeev Das and vice president mines Puranjaya Behera, here on Wednesday.
Commenting on the development IMFA MD Subhrakant Panda said: “We take great pride in our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) initiatives and recognitions such as this award go a long way in motivating the team. I am grateful to the OSPCB for guiding companies like us and helping to raise the bar”.
