Bhubaneswar: Even though the social media is abuzz with a news that Odisha’s former police DGP Prakash Mishra has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of newly created union territory Ladakh, there is no such notification from the office of the President of India to this effect till now.
The former top cop is also not aware of any such appointment.
Mishra, who is now holidaying in Kerela, has not received any communique in this regard.
The name of Mishra was doing round in the power corridor of New Delhi for quite some time about getting gubernatorial posting.
The former DG of Central Railway Protection Force (CRPF) had also served as an adviser to Uttarakhand governor when president’s rule was imposed their following political uncertainty.
Mishra had contested unsuccessfully Cuttack Lok Sabha election in 2019.
