Paradip: The union minister of state for shipping, Mansukh Mandaviya, Thursday stressed on faster development of Paradip Petroleum, Chemicals and Petro-chemicals Investment Region (PCPIR).
The minister, who was on his first visit to this port town after assuming the charge of shipping ministry, reviewed the progress of PCPIR with the officials and executives of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(IOCL) and Odisha government concern Idco.
“Adopt collaborative approach for faster development to bring overall development to the area”, he said while reviewing the PCPIR project.
The minister, while interacting with the port users and stake holder, emphasised on increasing the coastal shipping in Odisha.
The minister also reviewed the activities of the Paradip Port Trust. The Port Trust chairman Rinkesh Roy gave a detailed presentation on the various developmental activities the port is carrying out.
Mandviya visited the Port and saw the operations in the Dock area. On this occasion, he inaugurated the “New Kalyan Mandap” of PPT, participated in plantation drive and distributed eco-friendly cotton bags to the public from nearby location. He also participated in a Cycle Rally, organised by PPT, to spread the message of “Swachhta hi Sewa” and “Fit India”.
