Bhubaneswar: As a prelude to XIMB’s annual cultural and business festival, Xpression 2019, the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) organised X-Athon, a 10 kilometer marathon on Sunday with an aim to promote healthier lifestyles while spreading awareness and raising funds for a social cause.
The event, which had the theme of ‘Run a mile, Spread a smile’, was graced by the presence of deputy commissioner of police (Traffic), Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, Sagarika Nath.
The X-Athon marathon, witnessed a footfall of around 250 people. In the male category, Ashok Dandasena secured the first position with Rashmi Ranjan Nayak as the runners up. XIMB also felicitated Suhana Parmink as the event’s female winner and R Shubham Rao as the child winner.
Later the Social Responsibility Cell(SRC) of XIMB organised X-Enable 2019 in the campus tennis court, with a vision of letting the specially- abled children take flight in the area of sports. Students from schools like Chetana, Harsha Memorial, and Aaina participated in various sports events like lemon race, skipping, basketballand 3-legged race. The participants were felicitated with trophies and certificates.
