Bhubaneswar: Curtains came down on the three-day Annual Music Festival of Bhubaneswar Music Cricle, here on Thursday.
On the concluding day, Hindustani classical vocal exponent Vidushi Kalapini Komakali and Odissi vocalist Achyuta Maharana kept the audience spell bound. Kalapini was accompanied by Ramendra Singh Solanki on Tabla and Abhishek Shinkar in harmonium. Achyuta was accompanied by Sachidananda Das on Mardala, Tusharkanta Jena in harmonium, Harish Chandra Das in violin and Mamata Srichandan in Tanpura.
The Festival was opened on November 19 with Hindustani classical vocal presentation by Pt. Tushar Dutta. The evening also listened to Anjana Nath’s thumri, dadra and other semi Hindustani classicals. Dutta was accompanied by Tapash Paul on Tabla and Somen Poddar in harmonium. Anajana Nath got Tabla and harmonium support from Indranil Mallick and Somen Poddar respectively.
Sandip Kumar Rout in Sarod and Jabahar Mishra on flute presented a Hindustani instrumental jugalbani with Kulamani Sahoo in Tabla on the second evening on November 20. Their show was followed by Carnatic vocal duet by Anahita and Apoorva Ravindran. The Ravindran sisters were accompanied by Sruti Sarathy in violin and Akshay Anand on Mrudamgam.
