Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, launched the programme of laptop distribution to meritorious college students in the State by handing over lap tops to 10 Plus Two students, here on Frdiay.

The government will distribute 15,000 lap tops this year to Plus Two college students of the State. With this the total number computer distributed among students would cross the 1 lakh mark. The State has already distributed 90, 203 lap tops till last academic year.

Making some changes in the policy, the government has decided to distribute the lap tops this year as per the merit list prepared at the district level. This would mean that students from all the 30 districts will get lap tops.

Higher education minister Arun Sahoo, secretary Saswat Mishra, Mo College chairman Akash Das Nayak, chief secretary Asit Tripathy and chief minister’s chief adviser R Balakrishanan were present.
