Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government Friday floated fresh tenders for auction of 20 iron ore and manganese mines, the tenders for which was cancelled last week.
The last date for purchasing tender documents is December 30, 2019 and the last date for submitting the papers is January 3, 2020. Those have paid Rs 5 lakh for the tender papers in response to the earlier tender calls need not to pay for the fresh tender papers.
The State government in October this year had floated global tenders in three phases for a total 40 mines. However, realising that there sre loopholes in the tender documents, the government last week cancelled the auction of the 40 mines.
Out of the 20 mines, 12 are iron ore mines, 6 iron ore and manganese, and 2 manganese mines.
The 12 iron ore mines that are on the auction block are Gorumahisani, Badampahad, Jajang, Nadidiha (Biko), Balda, Nuagoan, Thakurani, Jhiling-Langlota, Jaribahal, Roida-2, Jujuri and Ganua.
The 6 iron ore and manganese ore are Nadidiha(Freegrade), Teherai, Kolomang, Siljor-Kalimati, Narayanaposi and Mahulasukha.
The two manganese mines are Katasahi and Kanther-Koida.
The government has reserved six mines – Thakurani, Jaribahal, Roida2, Ganua and Narayanposi- for sponge iron/ pig iron/ steel and/or pellet producers.
