Bhubaneshwar : India is home to some of the most unique arts and crafts, available across various regions of the country, showcasing a wide diversity in design. Artisans and weavers from each State of India bring the fascinating history and tradition of a region to life through their unique craftsmanship. Be it the the impeccable carvings from Odisha and Dokra metal art from Chhattisgarh – all these handmade products use indigenous materials and traditional techniques.
Despite having a rich legacy, indigenously produced crafts often don’t gather as much popularity as they deserve, often due to lack of awareness amongst consumers and limited access to a wide audience.
With an aim to overcome this hurdle, Biswajit started Haastika Handicrafts Pvt Ltd. and registered it on Amazon. And since then, Haastika has registered 10X growth, and today it work with over 27 category artisans.
“Ours is a traditional business, and one of the biggest challenges for the artisans in Odisha and Amazon.in has been instrumental in creating a viable business for them. Partnering with Amazon has offered significant visibility and reach, and has enabled to sell products to consumers across the country. It has helped support the growth of artisans in the State, and has contributed towards jump starting the local economy of Odisha”, said Biswajit, founder of Haastika.
Amazon.in has over 5.5 lakh sellers offering a selection of over 200 million products.
