Bubaneswar: The 8th Odisha MSME International Trade Fair 2020 got off, here on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the Trade Fair, the chief minister Naveen Patnaik said that Odisha’s large industrial base created during the last few years will provide ample new opportunities for MSME to grow in the State. He urged the young and talented entrepreneurs take advantage of the upcoming opportunities in Odisha and set up new enterprises.
“Odisha has been witnessing rapid industrial development for the last few years riding upon its rich natural resources. It also has a conducive business environment , forward looking industrial policy and infrastructure facilities. The Make-in-Odisha Conclaves in the year 2016 and 2018 have been able to attract huge investment to the tune of Rs 5 lakh, crore and immense employment opportunities.”
More than 350 MSMEs are participating in this event. Twenty entrepreneurs from Iran and 12 from Bangladesh are also participating the Trade Fair. Women entrepreneurs from Kalahandi, , Malkangiri, Gajapati Nuapada and Kandhamal are joining the Fair.
The chief minister felicitated the foreign delegation from Iran and Bangladesh.
MSME minister Dibya Shankar Mishra and OSIC chairman Chinmoy Sahoo graced inaugural ceremony. The principal secretary industries and MSME Hemant Sharma and the director of industries also spoke on the occasion.
