Bargarh: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has announced that Bargarh will have a Cancer Hospital soon.
Patnaik, who was on a one day tour of the district on Tuesday, inaugurated 7 projects work Rs 70 crore. He also laid foundation stones for 22 projects worth Rs 60 crore.
The chief minister inaugurated the Bargarh District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) which was upgraded to six-storied 300-beded hospital with an investment of Rs 45 crore .
Works minister Prafulla Mallick, labour minister Sushant Singh, science & technology minister Ashok Chandra Panda and MP Prasana Acharya were present.
The chief minister visited the Maa Samaleiswari Temple in Sambalpur city and paid his obeisance to the reigning deity of the district. Patnaik said that the Temple would be developed in the line of Puri Jaganath temple soon. A team will visit the temple for the purpose, he added.
Patnaik also said that the Hirakud Dam would be developed into an international tourism centre with facilities like water sports, garden, convention centre and landscaping.
