Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, in fact, saved the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh, at least for the time being.

The above statement is not far off the mark. For, the Congress strongman of MP might have got a clue from Naveen how to adjourn the House. An adjournment of House means deferring the immediate floor test. Nath has managed the State Assembly speaker in declaring the House adjourned till March 26 on the pretext of Coronavirus prevention measures. Thus, Nath got the precious time to make the last moment attempt to save his government.

Odisha is the only State in the country which has adjourned the State Assembly for 15 days till March 29. The chief minister Naveen Patnaik, in fact, could manage the adjournment of the House on the pretext of combating COVID-19 menace.

BJP, the main opposition in Odisha House raised an objection to the decision alleging that there was a conspiracy to avoid discussions on certain controversial issues.

However, the way the chief minister Naveen Patnaik and his government responding to the Coronavirus and the detection of a COVID-19 affected youth in the State, it would be very difficult on the part of the opposition to drive home its conspiracy theory in the mind of people of Odisha.

Meanwhile, after parading 106 MLAs before the governor, the former BJP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approached the supreme court which is going to hear on the petition on Tuesday.
