Bhubaneswar: Odisha police is gearing up to take charge of the situation in the post April 20 lock down period as the government of India has announced that restrictions would be relaxed for economic activities to take off.

The police DGP, Abhay, while reviewing the lock down situation in the State in a video conference with range IG, DIG and district SsPs, directed that the police force to be prepared for the post April 20 lock down period when the norms would be eased.

The DGP also dwelled on the course of action to be taken against those who were booked for various violation of law during the lock down period. He emphasised on investigation and legal proceeding against the accused persons.

The meeting also discussed about the action to be taken against domestic violence, not covering the face with mask defying COVID-19 regulation 2020, bootlegging, situation in migrant labour camps, and intra-State and inter-State transportation of essential commodities.

The DGP directed that all the good works done during the lock down period be recorded. He also directed that the police officers doing duty on roads under the scorching heat be taken care of.

The meeting was attended by additional DG (headquarters) additional DG( law & order), additional DG( intelligence) , IG (modernisation), IG (provisioning), IG (economic offence wing), and DIG(special task force).
