Bhubaneswar: A case of human sacrifice to drive away Coronavirus from the village has been reported in Odisha.
Sansari Ojha, a village temple priest of Bandhahuda village under Narsingpur police station in Cuttack district has killed one Saroj Pradhan (52) allegedly to appease the goddess.
Ojha Thursday went to the Narsingpur police station and surrendered.
The Narsinghpur police said that the accused Sansari Ojha has confessed that he had killed Saroj Pradhan to drive away Coronavirus from the village. Ojha has told the police that the goddess had ordered him for the human sacrifice.
However, Saraoj’s family members alleged that it is murder case and Saroj has been killed over an old rivalery. They also suspect that an old man of over 70 years Sansari Ojha could not have committed the crime alone.
